This position is responsible for conducting weed control activities, performing laboratory tests on commercial measuring devices, verifying pricing accuracy at retail locations, and assisting with other essential departmental functions.

Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history verification, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.
Physical Requirements: Incumbents must be able to occasionally lift seventy (70) pounds in addition to walking, stooping and bending.
Travel/License: Travel throughout the County is required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation. Incumbents must possess a Tanker endorsement with their qualifying Class A or Class B license within six (6) months of employment, and must possess and maintain a Qualified Applicator license or certificate in the Right-of-Way category within one (1) year of employment or be terminated.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Minimum RequirementsQualified candidates must meet
one of the options and the license requirement below:
OPTION 1: Possession of a Qualified Applicator Certificate issued by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
-OR-OPTION 2: Six (6) months of experience in professional pest control or weed eradication operations.
-AND- License: A valid California Class A or Class B driver's license.
Desired QualificationsThe
ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and possess a working knowledge of equipment mechanics.
