The Position

This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Public Works Accounting Assistant for the Public Works Department at Napa County. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited-term and extra help vacancies as they occur over the next 12 months.

About the Position: The Public Works Department is dedicated to sustaining health, safety, quality of life and protection of natural resources by providing and maintaining public facilities and services in partnership with the community and other public agencies for current and future residents, workers, animals, and visitors of Napa County. The Public Works Accounting Assistant will work with a close-knit team to support the Napa County Public Works Department. While responsibilities may vary, depending upon the departmental assignments, all positions are characterized by the performance of complex accounting and financial support work, requiring the regular use of independent judgment and initiative. The position is responsible for performing complex and highly responsible accounting assignments. A typical day of responsibilities may look like:
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Excel, service agreements, be incredibly organized and capable of multi-tasking, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.

Disaster Service Workers:
Napa County employees automatically become Disaster Service Workers. PUBLIC SERVICES EMPLOYEES BENEFITS INFORMATION

SALARY -
Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.
