Description
Job Summary Provides day-to-day supervision of warehouse functions for the City of Bryan including bidding, ordering, expediting, vendor returns, inventory control, reporting, warehouse assignments, scheduling and onsite leadership, and performing warehouse duties.
Coordinates, leads and participates in activities involving the inventory selection process with all City of Bryan departments and maintains a stock commensurate with department needs. Manages and facilitates the fuel system for the City. Prepares and issues bid invitations and recommends the acceptance or rejection of bids according to City purchasing ordinances and policies.
Essential Job Functions - Procures materials, supplies, and equipment commensurate with department needs; coordinates or recommends changes to stock levels, types, quantities and quality of supplies and equipment required for department operations.
- Manages the inventory for fuel, automotive parts, and water/wastewater parts.
- Maintains accountability and control of inventory for immediate use and distribution in support of all City operations.
- Assigns stock numbers for new supplies and/or equipment and ensures all inventory items are properly issued and charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Supervises, schedules, prioritizes and assigns work activities for Warehouse staff.
- Prepares assorted documents associated with the acquisition of goods and services such as contracts, quote sheets, requests for proposals, and other assorted materials.
- Coordinates annual inventory and regular cycle counts to ensure all inventory items are properly accounted for.
- Identifies and accounts for all surplus material for disposal, including the auction of surplus materials and personal property confiscated by legal authorities.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Responds regularly and promptly to work.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree plus at least two (2) years of experience in warehousing, storekeeping, logistics, inventory control or a similar field ; OR an Associate’s degree plus at least four (4) years of experience as previously listed; OR a High School Diploma plus at least six (6) years of experience as previously listed..
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience is required as determined by the department.
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, certification, and training may be considered.
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements - Texas Class C driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
- TCEQ UST Class A/B Operator Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the timeframe set by the department.
- Forklift Operator Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the time frame set by by the department.
Salary:
$75,000-$90,000 (depending on qualifications)
