Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Surgical Technicians who are responsible for assisting the physician and nursing staff in surgical procedures and in maintaining an aseptic, safe environment for all patients. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures, and safety standards

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Availability: Candidates must be available to work all shifts which include day, night, swing, weekends and holidays.

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must successfully pass a background investigation which includes fingerprinting and verification of employment history and education.

Certification: Applicants chosen for this position must possess a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess ALL of the following:

CERTIFICATION Must possess and maintain Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
EXPERIENCE OPTION 1: Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program within the past two (2) years.
OPTION 2:
Six (6) months of experience assisting surgeons and medical staff in an acute care operating room or outpatient surgery center.

Note: If applying under Option 1, proof of successful completion of a Surgical Technology program such as certificate or transcript is required and MUST be submitted with the application.

Desired Qualifications

Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) and trauma experience is highly desirable.
