Woodbridge operates under a Board of Selectmen and Town Meeting form of government. Five Selectmen are elected at large to two year terms and serve as the legislative branch, setting policy, approving ordinances, and reviewing administrative functions. The First Selectman is elected every two years and serves as Chief Administrative and Chief Elected Officer with full voting rights on the Board.
