Former PSE, WEX, or interns are eligible to apply up to six (6 ) months from the end of their assignment.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is looking for a Pulmonary Function Specialist to c onduct medically prescribed tests to measure such lung functions as vital capacity, total lung capacity, residual volume and air flow. The Pulmonary Function Specialist will s et up and calibrate a variety of laboratory equipment that is used in pulmonary testing. This position will prepare patients for testing by reviewing patient's history and explaining the nature and procedures of tests to be performed; perform spirometry, open and closed circuit equilibrium testing, diffusion determinations, and body plethysmography. Pulmonary Function Specialist will also administer bronchodilator through aerosol and repeats tests to provide comparative data.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination including drug screening.

Shift Availability: Applicants may be required to work various shifts, which may include weekends and holidays.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet ALL of the following:

LICENSE: Must possess and maintain a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the California State Respiratory Care Board.

CREDENTIAL: Must possess and maintain a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

CERTIFICATION: Must possess Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner OR Four (4) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist or a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
