Description
San Mateo County Supervisor Lisa Gauthier, representing District 4, is looking for a year-round intern to perform a variety of administrative and social media functions in her District Office.
Interns will gain on-the-job experience under the guidance of the Supervisor and her office of Legislative Aides.
Examples Of Duties
- Learn the workings of County Government
- Prepare memos on various local government topics
- Handle constituent questions and concerns
- Attend internal and external meetings
- Engage in social media outreach
- Plan and help develop website information and outreach
- Collaborate on District 4 projects
- Answer office phone and take notes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To apply, the following criteria must be met:- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a high school diploma or educational equivalent
- Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation prior to employment
- Preferred: Resident of District 4 (East Palo Alto, Redwood City, Menlo Park, or Unincorporated North Fair Oaks)

Work Schedule: This is an onsite role, with up to five in-office days per week as determined by work needs and scheduled by your supervisor.

The selection process will include an evaluation of applications in relation to minimum requirements. Depending on the number of applicants, the District Office may establish and implement additional screening mechanisms to comparatively evaluate the qualifications of candidates. If this becomes necessary, only those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the needs of the department will move forward in the recruitment process.
