The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is a full service agency that oversees the adult jail, provides patrol, criminal investigations, civil process and search and rescue operations. Special units include SWAT, Marine Patrol, ATV Patrol, Forest Patrol, along with five K9 teams. Founded in 1916 and today led by your appointed Sheriff Ty E. ABOUT THE JOB:
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Wellness Coordinator. This position is a non-sworn leadership role that defines and drives the strategic direction of the Sheriff’s Office Wellness Program. Serving as the agency’s primary wellness strategist, the position develops policy, oversees program operations and budget, and advises executive leadership on mental health and wellbeing initiatives. It is distinguished by its responsibility for shaping how employees access support—particularly after critical incidents—while coordinating evidence-based resources, training, and referrals through licensed providers and community partners.

Compensation

$6,027.10 to $8,076.88 for a 173.33 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This position is available immediately.

BENEFITS:

Necessary Special Requirements

The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, when necessary, to meet employee and agency needs.

Must pass a pre-qualifying driving record review and criminal history background.

When Are you Eligible:
If you are hired on the first business day of the month, your benefits will start on the first of that month (immediate benefits, either that day or back to the first of the month if the first is on a Saturday or Sunday). If you are hired after the first business day of the month, your benefits will start on the first day of the following month.
