Description
The JobChildren's Network is currently recruiting for a
Children's Network Event Coordinator* to assist with coalition building efforts in the community by coordinating interagency projects and representing Children's Network with the community and other governmental agencies. The Community Event Coordinator will plan, organize, and execute moderate- to large-scale events and initiatives focused on child abuse prevention, supporting families, and strengthening community relationships. The events executed by this Coordinator will often include elected officials and distinguished guests in attendance. In addition, the Coordinator will assist in the development, monitoring, and adherence to budgets; develop and monitor schedules and timelines; and develop and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals, and assist in the selection of sites and vendors, including conducting site visits, reviewing contracts, and supporting negotiations.
This position requires a candidate with a strong ability to effectively and efficiently plan and execute events with great detail. Additionally, requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for improving community needs, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to foster strong community partnerships. This position reports to the Associate Network Officer.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Schedule: Assignments and attendance at meetings and conferences, sometimes occurring after normal business hours and weekends, necessitates a flexible work schedule.
- Travel: Travel throughout the County is required to perform duties in the community. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation and may be required to use personal vehicles. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
- Background Investigation : A pplicants must pass a background investigation, which may include fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam prior to appointment.
- Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience event planning and coordinating large (100+ attendees) scale events.
-AND- Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited college in social/behavioral science, public health, public/business administration, or a closely related field.
NOTE: A list of completed college coursework or legible transcripts (unofficial are acceptable)
must be submitted with the application if the candidate does not possess a Bachelor's degree or higher.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have child abuse prevention planning experience; facilitation and public speaking experience for both public and private sector audiences; excellent communication skills as well as excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
