Anticipated Hiring Range

$10,833.00 - $11,667.00 Per Month ($129,996.00 - $140,004.00 Annually)

Position Summary

The Director of Finance under general supervision to the Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. The Director of Finance serves as a key member of the University Corporation senior leadership team. The Director of Finance will serve as the Corporation’s business officer, responsible for providing leadership to the overall support service functions including fiscal management, and budget development. Support service functions include, but not limited to, general accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, banking and investment relations, internal and external auditing and accounting operations and long-range forecasting and planning. As part of senior leadership, the Director of Finance will create and evaluate financial reports, presenting them to senior management, the UCorp board and campus-wide, and making recommendations as warranted. The Director of Finance will lead all day-to-day operations of the accounting department, supervising a team of seven which includes two leads handles the functional responsibility for the chart of accounts, all accounting transactions for three entities serviced by UCorp, reporting, and payroll. UCorp has assets of approximately $50 million dollars, and the Director of Finance would be responsible for overseeing all associated transactions. The Director of Finance will ensure that UCorp has the appropriate policies and procedures in place, which include continually reviewing, and strengthening internal controls related to accounting processes. The Director of Finance is responsible for making sure UCorp is in full compliance with GAAP, GASB, FASB, Federal State and California State University systems, rules, and regulations in the preparation of the Auxiliaries audited financial statements. The Director of Finance will serve as the lead contact in managing the yearly external audit. The Director of Finance will work closely with other department managers and staff with in UCorp, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how finance and accounting can support operations.

In addition, they will make sure that all accounting systems are working appropriately. Currently, PeopleSoft is the official accounting system and Financial Data Warehouse is one of the reporting tools.
