Purpose:

Under the direction of the City Attorney, this position provides legal services to and on behalf of the City.

We value a healthy work-life balance and currently offer a 40-hour work week with flexible work hours and a hybrid schedule of three days remote and two days on-site in accordance with the City’s policy and subject to supervisor approval. On-site work is primarily located at Austin City Hall, 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin 78701, or other location as designated by a supervisor.

Salary:

$104,300.00 - $134,000.00 annually

Division Overview:

The Open Government / Ethics and Compliance division provides legal advice to City employees and officials related to compliance with requirements in ethics, open meetings, public information, elections and more. This position is intended to work on issues related to elections, petitions, and the City’s boards and commissions, including the City’s Ethics Review Commission.

Note: The Open Government / Ethics and Compliance division has two open attorney positions currently. This position is intended to focus on elections, the other is intended to focus on public information. The City Attorney’s Office also has open attorney positions in other divisions, including Municipal Operations and Land Use / Real Estate.
