Position Description

The City of Tacoma is recruiting for the appointive position of Assistant Division Manager in the Science Division of the Environmental Services Department.

This specific Assistant Division Manager (ADM) position oversees the Environmental Compliance section, including the Inspections Group (focused on stormwater asset, wastewater asset, and business source-control inspections) and the Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Group. These efforts support City compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit requirements for stormwater and wastewater as well as state and local regulations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or public administration or directly related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Six (6) years of experience in one or more fields in the Environmental Services department, including 1 year prior as a senior and/or supervisory level.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid Washington State driver's license at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter, or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:
* Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Details:

Hourly Rate: $67.84 - $95.51

Annual Salary: $141,107.20 - $198,660.80

Other Employment Information

Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
