The Human Resources Department comprises approximately 45 positions and provides centralized services to the County’s 22 Departments. The divisions/units within Human Resources include recruitment, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, disability management, employee benefits and wellness, equal employment, employee learning and organizational development, volunteer and interns, and departmental administration.

ABOUT THE POSITION

There is currently one (1) full time regular hire vacancy within the Risk Division of the Human Resources Department.

The County of Marin is seeking an occupational health and safety professional to coordinate county-wide safety initiatives and support departments' staff in developing operation-specific safety programs as a member of the centralized Human Resources Department's Safety Unit. This position provides technical support, consultation, and training to all levels of County staff in 22 different departments, agencies, and special districts.

A Safety/Workplace Violence Prevention Analyst's responsibilities include:
Schedule: The position’s typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and work is primarily performed in an office environment. However, depending upon operational needs, the incumbent must also be willing to work outside of standard hours, during emergencies, critical events, or emerging threats. Evening or weekend work may occasionally be required to respond to urgent issues or meet the operational needs of customer departments, such as 24-hour facilities or remote locations. Risk/threat assessments may occasionally require working outdoors in inclement weather. Following completion of the probationary period, flexible scheduling options may be available, including minor adjustments to daily start and end times or a 9/80 schedule.

Any combination of education, training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities listed in the Class Specification . Typically, qualifying experience includes one year of experience equivalent to a Human Resources Analyst I performing professional level human resources work.
