Qualifications
The minimum and preferred requirements are listed below. While the following requirements outline the minimum qualifications the County reserves the right to select applicants for further consideration who demonstrate the best qualifications match for the job. Education and Experience:
Accountant-Auditor I
MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in accounting, finance, business, or public administration, or related field and some responsible accounting experience. Relevant accounting experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED: In addition to the minimum, one (1) year of responsible accounting experience.
Accountant-Auditor II
MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in accounting, finance, business or public administration or related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible accounting experience or one year of experience equivalent to the County's class of Accountant-Auditor I. Relevant responsible accounting experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED: In addition to the minimum, three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a public agency.
Licenses & Certifications:
The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; may be required to maintain license throughout employment at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
Special Requirements:
Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting and credit check prior to hire.
Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
