Job Summary

The planner I (Transportation) position is the entry level position for the Greenville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), to which the City of Greenville acts as the lead planning agency. The purpose of this position is to perform the administrative activities associated with the MPO’s core operations. The position will work closely with the MPO’s Transportation Planner to carry out administrative functions for the MPO’s technical and advisory committees. This includes assisting with scheduling meetings, preparing meeting agendas with detailed items, and taking notes for meetings. Additionally, the position will also gather and collect data for various federal and state reporting requirements, and prepare various reports, charts, and other MPO-related documents for meetings with local, regional, and statewide partners. The position also provides information in response to public inquiries and will require the composition of maps, posters, and PowerPoint presentations. The Planner I position also organizes and assists with special events and projects hosted by the Greenville MPO.
