THE POSITION

ASSOCIATE ANALYST

Fire Department Job Duties :

The Associate Analyst for the Culver City Fire Department a ssists in the development, review, and updating of emergency plans, annexes, standard operating procedures, and related documents including the City's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Community Guides, and operational checklists. Supports Emergency Operations Center (EOC) readiness by maintaining EOC systems, equipment inventories, and operational supplies; assists with EOC activations as assigned. Administers and maintains emergency management technology platforms including mass notification systems, WebEOC, and other software; provides user support and assists with training. Coordinates and supports the City's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Community Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CCARES) volunteer programs, including assisting with training, tracking volunteer participation, and maintaining records. Assists in developing and delivering public education and community outreach programs on emergency preparedness topics, including presentations, social media content, and community events. Conducts research on emergency management policies, best practices, after-action reports, and emerging hazards; prepares reports, summaries, and recommendations for the Emergency Services Manager. Supports grant administration activities including tracking expenditures, maintaining documentation, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements. Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating emergency preparedness drills and exercises in accordance with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) standards. Maintains emergency supply inventories; assists with procurement, tracking, and asset management of emergency equipment and supplies. Prepares written materials including correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, training materials, and program documentation. Coordinates logistics for division meetings, trainings, and exercises including scheduling, notifications, materials preparation, and follow-up , performs other related duties.

Minimum Requirements: Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Two (2) years of college work and
two (2) years para-professional administrative work as support staff for a division or department head. Additional experience may be considered in-lieu of education on a year for year basis.
License and Certificates: Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license required, if assigned to drive. ICS 100 and 700 certifications preferred (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
