About the position
Mohave County is seeking a Risk Management Analyst to support County-wide workplace safety, OSHA compliance, transportation safety, and loss prevention initiatives. This position serves as a safety resource to County departments by conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, performing risk assessments, and supporting compliance with applicable OSHA and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities and expectations include:

The Risk Management Analyst will focus on field-based safety operations, supporting the Roads Department, fleet operations, CDL drivers, remote work environments, and other high-risk County operations. Responsibilities include conducting workplace accident and vehicle incident investigations, performing building and job site safety inspections, evaluating compliance with applicable OSHA standards and County safety policies, identifying workplace hazards, recommending corrective actions, and partnering with departments to strengthen safety practices and reduce injuries, property damage, and operational risks.

The position assists with OSHA compliance initiatives by conducting safety audits, documenting findings, monitoring corrective actions, maintaining required safety records, supporting regulatory reporting, and helping develop and deliver safety training programs. Responsibilities may also include responding to accident scenes, conducting investigations near roadways or active work sites, performing field safety assessments, and providing guidance to departments on safe work practices.

Work is performed in both office and field environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, construction zones, roadways, heavy equipment, and other operational hazards. As operational needs dictate, the position may occasionally require evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency response outside of normal business hours.
