The Position

The City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department (RPU) is accepting applications for the position of UTILITIES WATER RESOURCES ANALYST to fill one (1) vacancy in the Water Division. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

Under general supervision, the Water Resources Analyst is to perform basic and routine professional planning and research work related to water demand and conservation, groundwater management, water supply planning, and other water resources and water utility tasks; compile related water data; monitor grant activities and report data related to water planning programs. The Water Resources Analyst is to conduct research and prepare technical reports and research papers and to do related work as required.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

One or more years of experience coordinating with laboratories, reviewing analytical laboratory reports, and developing or maintaining regulatory monitoring schedules for water-related programs.

One or more years of experience supporting cross-connection control and/or backflow prevention programs.

One or more years of experience supporting drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, or other water quality programs.

One or more years of experience using Excel (pivot tables, formulas, forecasting), geographic information systems (GIS), databases, and/or other data-management tools to maintain, analyze, and report water-resource information.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education obtained outside the United States (US) require one of the following options:
An equivalency statement from an evaluation company certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at Members - NACES or the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc. (AICE) at http://aice-eval.org/members/ . An advanced-level degree from an accredited US college or university.
