Description

Yuba College is seeking an equity-minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative Instructor to serve as the Radiology Technology Instructor/Program Director (Coordinator). This is an open position, and we are seeking an instructor who can continue to support and enhance the strong radiologic technology program at the college.

As one of two colleges in the Yuba Community College District, Yuba College provides high quality career education and transfer preparation programs to our community. Our main campus is located in Marysville, CA, and our Sutter County Center is located in Yuba City, CA. The area is an emerging region engaged in community revitalization with close proximity to the Sierra Nevada for outdoor recreation and access to the metropolitan areas of Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The College is excited about its status as a Hispanic Serving Institution ( HSI ) and serves our smaller local communities surrounding Yuba and Sutter counties, including Arboga, Gridley, Live Oak, Nicolas, Plumas Lake, Wheatland, etc. The College serves over 8,000 unduplicated students annually in multiple associate’s degree and certificate programs. Yuba College seeks a strong, well-rounded, equity-minded radiologic technology educator. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience or potential to be an excellent instructor at a community college and can provide leadership or contribute positively in areas such as: assuring effective program operations; overseeing ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes; participating in didactic and/or clinical instruction, as appropriate; maintaining current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development; proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising; and assuming the leadership role in the continued program development and to achieve the goals of the program, department, and college. Essential Duties Summary REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES :• Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.• Assist in the development and maintenance of program course outlines, handbook, and student records.• Consult with program faculty and affiliate staff regarding student performance to academic progress.• Assist in solving problems and concerns which may arise with students in both the didactic and clinical settings.• Assist in exploring innovations, including research, that may benefit the program, college, or district.• Maintain cooperative working relationships with college personnel, affiliate hospitals, appropriate community, state, regional, and national groups, agencies, and professional organizations.• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the program curriculum in partnership with other program faculty.• Leadership for continued program development and assuring effective program operations.• Participate in didactic and/or clinical instruction, as appropriate, in accordance with program instructional plans and ensure compliance with relevant accreditation agencies, program and college procedures and policies.• In collaboration with the Director and Dean, participate in budget planning for the program.• Recommend purchase of appropriate instructional equipment, materials, and supplies.• Monitor annual inventory of the physical property of the program.• Assist in the interpretation of the agreements of affiliation between the College and affiliate hospitals.• Provide information concerning requirements of the instructional program that may have implications for construction proposals or contracts.• Assist in the development of proposals for local, state, or federal funding.• Schedule meetings of the faculty, clinical preceptors, and advisory committee, maintain accurate minutes.• Participate in college, division, and program meetings and committees, as assigned.• Support onboarding of new full-time and part-time faculty to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.• Disseminate necessary information about the program and the program personnel for news releases and other College information publications.• Describe the program to applicants, students, college, and community personnel.• Work collaboratively with the Admissions & Records personnel to recruit, screen, and select qualified and diverse students.• Refer students to support services as necessary to maximize their success.• Perform assessments of the program for continuous improvement initiatives.• Serve as the program Radiation Safety Officer alternate.• Oversee ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes in compliance with, District, College, State, and JRCERT requirements.• Keep abreast of the educational trends in radiology and maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.• Available to faculty and students during clinical hours, as needed, which may require travel to clinical sites within a 300-mile radius of the college.• Day, evenings, nights, weekend, and summer responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for director (coordinator) in Radiological Technology as governed by JRCERT & RHB : EDUCATION : EXPERIENCE : SKILLS , KNOWLEDGE , and ABILITIES :
