Position Summary:Responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with existing and potential medical referral sources to facilitate achievement of business growth in assigned service lines. Duties include: promoting UMC to the medical community by visiting physicians’ offices; working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop physician-facing marketing materials; communicating services and programs; distributing information packets and marketing materials; identifying and analyzing the needs of referring physicians and health care providers; making recommendations to achieve business goals and strategic plans; measuring, monitoring, and tracking referrals on an ongoing basis to accurately summarize and report findings to hospital administrators.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, community outreach, public relations, healthcare administration, or a closely related field, and three (3) years of professional experience in marketing directly to physicians and/or other health care audiences, including the development and implementation of outreach strategies.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:Must possess a valid Class C Nevada driver's license by date of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Marketing principles, public relations practices, sales techniques, healthcare policies, clinical information/processes, medical terminology, physician office/practice management, customer services strategies, media relations, managed care contracts, hospital operations and administration, department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Developing, implementing and coordinating community relations programs specific to clinicians; processes and procedures; producing and editing effective written and graphic materials; preparing clear, concise and effective outreach materials including brochures, reports, correspondence and other written materials; organizing work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines; using initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; analyzing data and arriving at sound conclusions; conducting effective presentations to large and small groups; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain standing for long periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
