ABOUT THE POSITION

Clark County Commission and Manager's Office is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Public Information Specialist (Social Media) position for the Office of Communication and Strategy. This position is responsible for managing the County’s official social media channels, creating and producing public information videos and social media content related to Countywide activities, initiatives, and programs. The role with the Office of Communication and Strategy also includes engaging in social media marketing and listening, as well as planning and overseeing the work of staff involved in content production.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

** REQUIRED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW: If selected to interview, applicants are required to submit 20 links to social media video clips created by the applicant via email. Examples should show creativity, innovation, storytelling and connection with the audience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college course work in Journalism, Communications, Public Information, or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of experience in video production for social media and social media content creation. Success as a content creator for social media is desirable. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions:
May work outside of normal working hours.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
