ABOUT THE POSITION

The Department of Public Works is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Office Assistant III to join the Administrative Services Team within the Business Services Branch. Public Works provides essential services that support Marin County’s infrastructure, including facilities, roads, engineering, environmental programs, and other community-serving services. This position supports that work by serving as the primary front desk and reception contact for Public Works at the historic Marin County Civic Center.

This position plays an important role in welcoming members of the public, County staff, vendors, and partner agencies; answering and routing phone calls; responding to general inquiries; and helping connect people with the appropriate division, program, or staff member. The Office Assistant III will also provide general clerical and administrative support as assigned, including assistance with daily office operations.

They will demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to follow established procedures and policies while routing inquiries appropriately.

This role requires a service-oriented approach, patience, dependability, attention to detail, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will also be flexible and willing to support assigned clerical and administrative tasks that help the Administrative Services Team operate smoothly.
