About the Opportunity:Great Park
The City of Irvine seeks an experienced individual to oversee facilities, park operations, special events and personnel at the Great Park. The Public Safety Assistant - Part-time position will patrol the Great Park and surrounding areas 24 hours a day by vehicle, on foot or on bicycle. Additional duties include providing traffic control and security for large scale events, responding to emergencies, writing police reports, issuing citations, monitoring competitive/recreational sporting events and providing customer service.

- Respond to emergencies.
- Write police reports and issue citations.
- Monitor competitive/recreational sporting events.
- Providr exceptional customer service.
- Onboard and train new staff.
- Acts as lead PSA while on duty.
- May be expected to fill scheduling vacancies.
- Coordinate scheduling of staff.
- Act as Public Safety liaison to Great Park stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications - Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field with at least one year experience in law enforcement activities, community service, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Requires a valid California drivers' license.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain certification in first aid and CPR.
The classification of Public Safety Assistant is used throughout the Irvine Police Department in several roles and divisions. The essential duties and responsibilities listed are dependent upon the assigned division and may or may not apply to the specific position listed in the title of this job bulletin. All applicants must be able to pass the Public Safety background check process.
