I. General Description:

This position is responsible for the safety and assistance of children in crossing thoroughfares.

II. Qualifications:

1. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
2. Must be able to pass a background check upon employment
3. Must have great communication skills, both verbal and written
4. Must be able to escort students safely across thoroughfares
5. Must be able to work a split shift

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists children through intersections and thoroughfares at established crosswalks
2. Instructs children in appropriate signals and directs them in accordance with traffic signals
3. Alerts motorists to the presence of children by displaying appropriate signs
4. Places and removes school zone signs
5. Reports motorists who violate school zone traffic laws to appropriate supervisor
6. Must use good judgment when making decisions that impact the safety and care for students and adults
7. Performs other related duties as assigned

Reports To: School Administration

Calendar: 10 Months; 15hrs/week

Note: **Compensation will be based on 93% of regular rate of pay without High School Diploma
