Summary
Position title: Personnel SpecialistLocation: Coronado, CA
Clearance required: SECRET
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Use established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applications located in the Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) Toolbox to deliver accurate and timely Sailor Pay and Personnel support.
- Maintain current knowledge of Pay, Personnel, and Travel (PAYPERS) policy, references, and process updates. Leverage resources provided on the My Navy Career Center (MNCC) "CPPA Resources" webpages to ensure compliance with the most up to date guidance.
- Attend all mandatory CPPA training events hosted by the Transaction Service Center (TSC) or Regional Support Center (RSC). If unable to attend scheduled sessions, proactively coordinate alternate methods to receive and understand the material.
- Review personnel documents and transaction packages routed between Sailors and the supporting TSC/RSC. Ensure completeness, accuracy, proper documentation, and that all required forms, attachments, and information are included to facilitate timely resolution.
- Protect Sailor Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in all actions, adhering to DoD and Navy privacy standards. Immediately report any suspected or confirmed PII spillage upon discovery and coordinate with the command Personnel Administration Officer and Command Career Counselor for assistance when required.
Qualifications
- Possess an adjudicated SECRET clearance at time of appointment.
- Possess a valid state driver's license.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience within the last 5 years performing the Pay, Personnel Specialist and administrative functions in support of the U.S. Navy or other DoD agency equivalent.
- Experience working with Navy Correspondence and administrative reports, to include performance reports.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in operating Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related programs.
