Description
The City of Burlingame Police Department is seeking qualified internal candidates for the position of Police Property & Evidence Clerk. This is a full-time promotional opportunity for current City of Burlingame employees.
Ideal CandidateUnder the general direction of the assigned supervisor, the Police Property & Evidence Clerk performs a variety of responsible and complex administrative and technical duties related to the receipt, storage, preservation, release, and disposal of property and evidence. The position maintains the integrity of evidence throughout the judicial process, ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, prepares and maintains records, and testifies in court as required.
Education & ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate. Two (2) years of experience as a Police Clerk II or in an equivalent position.
License/CertificatePossession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California Class C driver's license upon appointment. Certification in property and evidence management is preferred.
Benefits- Retirement: CalPERS retirement benefits (2.5% @ 55 for Classic members; 2.0% @ 62 for PEPRA/New members). Classic members contribute 1.5% of the City's employer contribution through pre-tax payroll deductions.

This position has a 12-month probationary period from the date of hire. Whereby, the selected candidate must receive a rating of no less than 'satisfactory' at the end of the probationary period to continue forward with employment. During the 12-month probationary period, the selected candidate can be terminated with, or without cause.

$6,790.44-$8,253.82 Monthly
