Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Seasonal Employment Information

Seasonal employees are hired for one season of the year to perform a seasonal function and may not work more than six months in a twelve-month period.

Seasonal employees receive legally required benefits, such as Social Security and workers’ compensation. Seasonal employees are not eligible for the City of Olathe’s health plan or other City benefits, including KPERS.

The Solid Waste Laborer performs the activities and operations of the assigned solid waste collection work group supporting the collection of residential, commercial, curbside recycling and bulky item refuse. Pickup of material may be by manual, semi-automated or automated methods.

Qualifications

Experience : One year of related work experience is preferred.

Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.
