Transport Dispatcher
Inova Center for Personalized Health is looking for a dedicated Transport Dispatcher to join the Transfer Center team. This role will be full time; day/night shift; Monday Friday, rotating weekends from 6am - 6.30pm OR 6pm - 6.30am.

The Transport Dispatcher coordinates and assists with prioritizing ambulance transportation for patients within the Inova Health System. This position also assists with coordinating critical care transports for Inova's specialty teams for patients internal to Inova and from our external care partners.
Transfer Dispatcher job responsibilities:
- Answers, screens, and directs calls for general or emergency ground transportation.
- Enters transportation requests into brokerage software and tracks in progress transports for timely ETA's and re-broker as needed.
- Schedules pre-arranged pickup and drop-off while determining the appropriate level of care needed for the patient.
- Arranges specialty and critical care transportation. Communicates with multiple departments and EMS personnel.
- Communicates with nursing teams to inform of changes in ETAs or prioritization of requested transports.
- Assists with prioritization of transport requests to ensure timely transports of patients with interventional needs.
- Assists with coordination of critical care transfers and transport requests in partnership with Inova's specialty teams.
- Recognizes and assists with escalations of transport inquiries and challenges to appropriate vendor resources.
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Shift: Day/Night (6am - 6.30pm OR 6pm - 6.30am) Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week including weekends (24/7 operation)
Transport Dispatcher Requirements:
- Education: HS Diploma or GED
- Experience: One year of EMS Dispatch/Transfer Center/Healthcare experience/EMT or higher certification
