Airports Systems Technician (Open Until Filled)City of Fresno, CAThe Airports Systems Technician is responsible for responding to system outages and troubleshooting issues as the first line of defense. The incumbent monitors, installs, alters, maintains, and repairs Baggage Handling System controls, Domestic Water Controls, Energy Management Control Systems, Storm Water Control Systems, Autoclave Controls, access control system‑managed electronic door and gate hardware, Passenger Boarding Bridge Controls, and other electrical equipment within the City of Fresno Airports Department. In coordination with the Information Services Department (ISD), they support and maintain field‑level hardware components of the airport's security systems.RequirementsAt least 2 years of experience working with mechanical/conveyor systems, energy management controls, security system hardware components, and people‑moving systems and controls or related systems.Valid California driver's license at time of appointment.Ability to pass a TSA‑mandated Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment.FAA 10‑year employment history verification, including a criminal history records check.Successful completion of a Department of Justice fingerprinting and interview prior to employment.Selection ProcessThe process may include a written examination measuring the ability to read engineering plans and specifications and knowledge of airport systems principles and practices. The examination is scheduled for the week of July 6, 2026. Applicants must achieve a passing score to qualify for placement on the eligible list.Veteran's PreferenceVeterans must submit a copy of their DD‑214 indicating honorable discharge.
