About This Opportunity
Schedule/Hours: 4PM-9PM - Around 29 Hours per week. This position is responsible for: Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program; guards the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients. Key Responsibilities: Provides security for the building and grounds by being aware of activities happening in residential dorms. Maintains awareness of activities occurring outside of the building, ensures that vehicles are parked in designated areas, and prevents property from being vandalized. Monitors telephones, security cameras, and fire alarm systems; notify proper authorities and supervisor when emergency assistance is needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (less than 25 – 50lbs) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently. Work is performed in a regular social service housing and office environment, where moderate discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like are common. What We Are Looking For In You
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, and six months' experience working with the public with experience working in a security or social service environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
