Job Summary
This position coordinates and dispatches shipments. He/She performs a variety of tasks related to order-fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Monitors activities for service orders.
- Updates reports as required.
- Records inbound and outbound equipment.
- Monitors scheduled versus actual equipment types.
- Investigates overdue shipments.
- Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
- Serves as Senior Dispatcher and may train and certify dispatch associates.
- Receives and resolves higher level problems and escalates problems to higher level management with suggested solutions, as appropriate.
- Plays key role in assuring the timely dispatching and coordinated pickup and delivery of customer orders within stated performance measures.
- Learns, understands and works with the enterprise dispatching system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or International equivalent
- 2 years' customer service and/or dispatch experience in a transportation, distribution or order-fulfillment industry
- Strong communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
- Accurate and rapid data entry and retrieval
Compensation & Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $22.75 per hour to $24.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience.
