Security Control Assessor (Mid)

As a Security Control Assessor (Mid) supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office, you will provide security control assessment support to a Department of Defense customer responsible for one of the nation's most critical defense programs. In this role, you will leverage your security engineering mindset, analytical abilities, and attention to detail to support the assessment and validation of security controls, identify potential risks, and help maintain compliance with cybersecurity requirements. You will work closely with government and contractor stakeholders to support security assessment activities, maintain required documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of security processes that support mission success. This position offers the opportunity to directly support military customers while collaborating with a dedicated and high-performing Serco team. In This Role, You Will:
- Support security control assessment activities, including documentation review, evidence tracking, control validation support, and reporting.
- Assist with reviewing security plans, assessment materials, findings, corrective actions, and related system security documentation.
- Coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders to support assessment schedules, data calls, and required documentation.
- Maintain trackers, matrices, and records used to monitor assessment of progress, issues, and action items.
- Support meetings, briefings, technical discussions, and leadership updates related to security controls and assessment status.
- Help identify risks, documentation gaps, and process improvements to strengthen security assessment execution.
- Support cybersecurity compliance efforts and assessment activities within a DoD environment.
- Assist with documenting security findings and tracking remediation activities through completion.
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience supporting security control assessments, cybersecurity, security engineering, Risk Management Framework (RMF), compliance documentation, or related DoD security functions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with government and contractor stakeholders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to work on site in Arlington, VA, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
Preferred Experience:
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SAP access or eligibility preferred.
- Prior experience working in a Security Countermeasure environment.
- Current and Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
- Experience supporting DoD cybersecurity, compliance, assessment, or mission assurance activities.
- Familiarity with security documentation, control validation processes, and assessment reporting.

- Up to 10% of travel may be required.
