Summary
Registrar
This clerical job involves maintaining the official records of students in the school. Establishes and maintains files for new students, evaluates, and maintains permanent records of all students, including subject grades, credits earned, test data, school activities, and honors. Provides liaison coordination regarding records and data on students such as grade changes, grade point average changes, and credit corrections. Evaluates all high school and grade school transcripts of incoming students and records in the computer system. Responsible for withdrawals from the school, prepares necessary forms and reports, and may collect ID badges. Mails transcripts and other documents of students transferring to other schools or entering colleges and universities. Prepares worksheets and computes grade point average and class rank of students. Types, conducts student interviews, and composes correspondence regarding transcripts, report cards, graduation requirements, and verification of student record information. Processes transcripts for student college applications. Compiles and prepares various statistical reports. Completes appropriate student documents as required. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner. Maintain punctual and regular attendance. Perform other related duties as assigned.
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education / Certificate: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire. Experience: Must possess a minimum of three years of clerical experience, preferably including some statistical and clerical skills in a school setting. Communication Skills: Must possess an ability to deal with matters of confidentiality. Computer Skills: Must possess the ability to do arithmetic computations quickly and accurately. Must possess thorough knowledge in the use of business machines and computers.
