ORDINANCE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER I, II, OR III Level I: Grade 10, $22.21/hr.Level II: Grade 12, $24.97/hr.Level III: Grade 14, $27.47/hr.Do you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and making a visible difference in your community? Tooele City is looking for an Ordinance Enforcement Officer I, II, or III to help keep our community safe, clean, and well-maintained.In this role, you'll investigate complaints, conduct property inspections, identify ordinance violations, and work with residents and property owners to resolve issues. You'll document cases, prepare reports, coordinate with other City departments and agencies, and assist with enforcement and property abatement when needed.The Ordinance Enforcement Officer I, II, and III are progressive levels within the same career series. Level I is the entry level and provides an opportunity to learn the position under supervision. Level II performs routine duties with limited supervision and takes on more complex assignments. Level III is the full-performance level, handling more difficult matters independently and exercising discretion in enforcement activities.We're seeking applicants who are professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working with people in a variety of situations. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills are essential for success in this position.Minimum Qualifications All LevelsHigh school diploma or GED;Valid Utah Driver License and acceptable driving record;Strong communication skills, honesty, integrity, and professionalism;Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the assigned level.Level IOne (1) year of generally responsible work experience, preferably related to the position;Strong organization and customer service skills;AACE Code Enforcement Officer certification may be considered in lieu of experience.Level IITwo (2) years of experience in record keeping, correspondence, database management, or similar administrative work;Experience working with the public;AACE Code Enforcement Officer certification may be considered in lieu of experience.Level IIIThree (3) years of experience in law enforcement, code enforcement, or a related field involving codes, ordinances, or laws and significant public contact;AACE Code Enforcement Officer certification, along with UOCA Code Enforcement Officer certification, may be considered in lieu of experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
