Do you enjoy working outdoors, helping animals, and serving your community? We are hiring a Part-Time on Call Animal Control Officer to join the Board of Health team.

Pay Rate: $23-$25 per hour

What You'll Do:

  • Respond to calls involving loose, injured, abandoned, or mistreated animals
  • Enforce local and state animal control laws
  • Educate residents about responsible pet ownership
  • Work with police, veterinarians, shelters, and wildlife professionals
  • Issue citations and keep basic records
  • Respond to occasional after-hours animal emergencies
What We're Looking For:
  • Someone reliable, calm, and comfortable working independently
  • A person who cares about animals and public safety
  • Good communication skills and sound judgment
  • Prior animal, public safety, or outdoor work experience is helpful-but not required
The Work: This role includes outdoor fieldwork in all weather conditions and may involve physically and emotionally challenging situations. Every day is different.
