Summary
DescriptionCenCore is seeking a Lead Construction Surveillance Technician (Lead CST) to support secure construction projects and help ensure construction activity is performed in accordance with national security standards, approved security protocols, and project requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing security measures in a construction environment, conducting surveillance and inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and coordinating with project managers, security personnel, and construction teams.
The ideal candidate has hands-on CST experience, strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide guidance to construction personnel while supporting the integrity of secure construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement security measures for construction projects to support compliance with national security standards and project-specific security requirements.
- Conduct inspections and surveillance of construction sites to identify, document, and help mitigate potential security threats or vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain detailed reports, daily logs, documentation, and records of surveillance activities, inspections, incidents, and security measures implemented.
- Coordinate with project managers, security personnel, construction teams, and other stakeholders to support seamless security operations.
- Monitor construction personnel and site activity to ensure adherence to approved security protocols and procedures.
- Provide training, guidance, and direction to construction personnel regarding site security measures, protocols, and expectations.
- Review security plans, procedures, and planned security measures for new construction activity and provide recommendations as needed.
- Stay informed of current construction surveillance practices, security technologies, and secure construction best practices.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required; must be able to provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST).
- Valid CST certification required.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach to supporting end users, visitors, stakeholders, and project personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret requirements and communicate information clearly.
- Ability to work in a Windows-based operating environment.
- Experience supporting security operations, data center workflows, secure facilities, or cleared construction environments.
- Knowledge of construction surveillance security protocols, secure construction best practices, or physical security requirements.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate across teams, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction or security environment.
- Knowledge of DoD ICD 705, SCIF construction, or secure facility accreditation processes.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly and maintain discretion.
- Ability to work collaboratively with construction, security, and project teams.
- Ability to develop practical security solutions for complex construction or site security challenges.
- Work is performed in an active construction environment supporting secure construction operations.
- Must be able to monitor construction activity, personnel, materials, and site access for extended periods.
- May be exposed to typical construction site conditions, including noise, dust, weather, uneven surfaces, and safety hazards.
- Must comply with all site security, safety, access control, and personal protective equipment requirements.
