Surveillance Lead Officer
Surveillance Lead Officers are responsible for understanding and responding to internal property needs. They communicate in a friendly, respectful, and understandable manner. Surveillance Lead Officers work to ensure the safety of our guests, employees, and vendors, while ensuring assets of the property and its occupants are secure.
• Directly supervise Surveillance Officers in the absence of a Surveillance Supervisor
• Assist their supervisor with employee training and department initiatives
• Notify leadership, departments and/or MLGCA when required by regulation or policy
• Effectively delegate work as it arrives, and ensure adequate completion of work
• Use a CCTV system to monitor and review activity throughout the casino property
• Work with employees within the department as well as other departments to investigate incidents
• Complete typed reports/logs and preserve video as evidence
• Maintain surveillance on all casino operations for errors, theft, fraud and regulatory violations
• Respond to casino activity and utilize necessary equipment to identify, record and document illegal and unusual activities occurring on the property
• Work with law enforcement agencies to review and investigate crimes, and may represent the casino in litigation as required
• Identify and/or review incidents such as departmental violations, risk management concerns, monetary variances and player disputes
• Monitor various systems for malfunctions and report/document them as needed
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High degree of professional and personal integrity/ethics
• Must have basic computer and arithmetic skills
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a gaming license through the MLGCA
• Able to work day, evening or overnight shifts, including holidays and weekends
• Able to speak, read and understand English
• Able to complete an on-the-job 90-day training program, with various tests and assessments
• Has had Surveillance employment or equivalent investigation/gaming/casino experience
• Has excellent interpersonal and verbal/written skills
• Has knowledge of casino table games, cheat tactics, and cash handling scams
• Is able to understand and adapt to changing departmental/property/regulatory policies & regulations
• Is able to work independently and proactively when work is not assigned
• Is naturally curious and enjoys investigating freely
• Able to be alert in a high-risk environment; follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrate on routine work details and organize and maintain a system of records
• Able to respond calmly in crisis and mentally stressful situations, and can make rational decisions
• Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
• Able to respond to audible and visual cues and alarms
• Able to sit for extended periods of time
• Able to control a joystick and inputs on keypads
• Able to speak clearly and comfortably on a phone and/or handheld radio
• Must have good personal hygiene and a professional appearance
$25.00 per hour
40 hour scheduled work week, with consecutive days off, generally static
Overtime opportunities available, when necessary, typically first come first serve
