Hualapai Tribe – Adult Detention Center Correctional Officers I, II and III – Full‑time positions with a salary of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.Opening date: February 23, 2024. Closing date: Open until filled.Statement of Duties and Qualifications Correctional officers are responsible for the first‑line supervision of adult offenders in detention/correctional institutions or community‑based facilities. The role requires maintaining facility security, staff and offender safety and care. Officers enforce rules and regulations in Title25 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Bureau of Indian Affairs Manual, and the Department of the Interior Manual446. Responsibilities include offender classification, facility counts, fire safety, key control, perimeter security, compliance with offender rules, and conducting preliminary interviews of offenders for physical/mental health and classification assessments.Experience Requirements No experience to one (1) year in any tribal, county, state or federal correctional facility for Correctional Officer I positions.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a tribal, county, state or federal correctional facility for Correctional Officer II positions.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a tribal, county, state or federal correctional facility for Correctional Officer III positions.Necessary Requirements High School Diploma or GED.Valid Arizona driver's license and eligible for Tribe's insurance.Drug and alcohol screening with random testing thereafter.10‑year background investigation with a favorable report.No felonies, pending cases, DUI's, current probation or domestic violence offenses.Completion of a 6‑week United States Indian Police Academy Course within one year of employment.Equal Opportunity Employer The Hualapai Tribe is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Program.
