Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain secrecy of Grand Jury proceedings;
- Swearing in witnesses who appear before the Grand Jury;
- Maintaining a witness log of witnesses who appear before the Grand Jury;
- Ensuring that the Grand Jury room is set up and prepared for the Grand Jury docket;
- Maintaining the security of the Grand Jury room and ensuring that no person enters the Grand Jury area who is not a member of the Grand Jury, the District Attorney's Office, the Judge over the Grand Jury, courthouse bailiffs, court reporters, an attorney pro tem, or witnesses who are appearing before the Grand Jury;
- Facilitating food orders for the Grand Jury;
- Keeping track of the amount of coffee and water supplies, and providing a supplies list to the Judge of the Grand Jury when the supplies run low;
- Assisting with the functioning of the Grand Jury as needed by the members of the Grand Jury and/or the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED; 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university or two years active duty military experience preferred.
- Current or Past TCOLE Certification. Prior law enforcement experience.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the members of the Grand Jury, other county employees, and elected officials.
- Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Firearms Certification preferred.
Starting Salary: $22.46 per hour; Part-Time up to 29 hours per week
