Armed Security Officer (Part-Time)
Location: Chicago, IL
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Weekends 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm or 5:00 pm-9:00 pm
Join Our Security Team
We are seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Armed Security Officers to provide security services at client locations throughout the Chicago area. This position emphasizes observation, reporting, patrol operations, and emergency response while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois PERC Card
- Active Illinois FOID Card
- Current Illinois 40-Hour Armed Security Training Certificate
- Personal firearm and all required permits
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear, accurate incident and activity reports
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience
- College coursework in criminal justice, security, or a related field
- Experience with patrol operations and incident response
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report security-related activities and incidents
- Conduct foot, vehicle, golf cart, and/or bicycle patrols as assigned
- Identify and report suspicious persons, activities, or safety concerns
- Complete detailed incident reports and Daily Activity Reports (DARs)
- Enforce site rules, policies, and post orders
- Respond to emergencies and provide security assistance when needed
- Maintain a professional presence and provide excellent customer service
- Assist in de-escalating potentially hostile situations
