Summary
Campus Safety OfficerUnder the direction of the Sector Sergeant, this position provides a safe environment for students, staff and guests on campus. They establish and maintain a productive rapport with the students, staff and community members while creating and maintaining a positive working relationship with the School Resource Officers and other local and state Public Safety Officials. They assist in the development and implementation of emergency action plans in the event of an emergency requiring an immediate response to imminent threats of violence, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, auto accidents and other matters and events that require emergency intervention. This position reports to the Sergeant.Key responsibilities include patrolling the exterior and interior of campus to provide assistance and direction, monitoring school facilities to provide visibility, maintaining security, and deterring potential crimes, assisting with District Safe School Searches, preparing documentation, responding to emergency situations, and assisting other personnel as may be required.Key job requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, job-related experience preferred, security training and/or law enforcement experience preferred, sound judgment capabilities, regular contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility, great time management skills, responsibility for the welfare of others, travel to off-site locations/school sites, and moderate duty physical requirements.
