Resident Monitor/Security GuardSalary Range $9.75 - $10.00 Hourly Position Type Part Time with Benefits 20 or More Education Level High School Diploma/GED Category HousingAbout This OpportunitySchedule/Hours: 24 hours per weekThis position is responsible for:Oversees, accepts, and processes residents staying in shelter overnight. Monitors the behavior and activity of residents participating in recovery/housing program on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules. Guards the security and the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.Key Responsibilities:Ensures compliance with house rules. Completes and files incident logs. Administers drug and alcohol testing at program staff requestProvides security for the building and grounds being aware of activities happening in building dormitories. Maintains awareness of activities occurring outside of the building.Inspects baggage for contraband or inappropriate items which jeopardize the security and safety of clients and staff; may operate a metal detectorMaintains confidentiality of all clients including their location, conversation, and records Responds to emergencies by dialing 911Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Work requires performance of duties in social services environments where exposure to communicable & infectious diseases are possible.Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking on a frequent change basis.
