Airline Services Baggage Handler/Ramp Agent I - PT - Afternoon/Evenings

Description
Lehigh Valley Airline Services provides ground handling support for select airline partners. Airline Services Baggage Handlers/Ramp Agents are responsible for performing a wide range of aircraft ground support services essential to safe, efficient, and on-time operations.
Essential Functions
- Tow and marshal aircraft to and from gates and designated parking areas.
- Perform lavatory and potable water servicing, as well as aircraft deicing operations.
- Conduct aircraft interior cleaning and complete aircraft and commissary security searches.
- Stock aircraft and commissary carts with all required supplies.
- Load, unload, and transport luggage and cargo between aircraft and terminal areas, ensuring proper handling of special-care baggage.
- Properly operate, maintain, and fuel heavy motorized equipment, including but not limited to baggage tractors/tugs, belt loaders, pushback tugs, deicing trucks, and commissary trucks.
- Demonstrate physical ability and situational awareness to safely navigate around aircraft and ground support equipment.
- Provide courteous, professional assistance. Assist customers with luggage requiring lifting; push and pull passengers in wheelchairs; and lift passengers onto aisle chairs up to 250 pounds.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and occasionally up to 99 pounds with assistance.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, snow removal, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Communicate professionally using two-way radio, telephone, and email.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure on-time aircraft departures and overall operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe ramp environment by keeping all areas clear of Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
- Adhere to all Airline, TSA, and FAA regulations, as well as Authority policies, procedures, and best practices, while upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and customer service.
- Be available to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and remain flexible to support irregular operations or extended shifts as needed.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- PC skills include Word, Excel, Outlook and other applicable computer programs.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to report during emergency situations as necessary.
- Must be able to report to work during all weather conditions.
- Have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must- Have Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license that meets insurance requirements.
- Must wear the uniform provided and personal protective equipment; uniforms must be clean, presentable, and worn in accordance with company standards.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required to support operations.
- Successfully complete and maintain all required training, security clearances, and employment-related certifications.
- Possess adequate English language skills, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
- Regularly perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Use hands and fingers to type, handle baggage, boxes, tools, and equipment controls.
- Vision abilities (with or without corrective lenses) including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sufficient auditory ability (with or without hearing devices) to communicate effectively over radios, telephones, and in-person, and to recognize alarms, vehicle movement, and other warning signals.
- Tolerate exposure to high noise levels, up to 150 decibels at times; hearing protection is provided and recommended.
- Able to tolerate exposure to air fuels, exhaust, and de-icing chemicals.
- Able and willing to work in inclement weather, including extreme cold and warm temperatures.
