The DGC will work closely with the General Counsel and supervise a team that includes attorneys, hearing examiners, and program coordinators. The role involves serving as a legal advisor to the agency, representing the agency in various legal matters, and developing and monitoring regulations and policies. The DGC will also be responsible for a range of legal tasks, including responding to discovery and public records requests, reviewing life sentence decisions, and processing petitions for executive clemency.Applicants for the DGC position at the company should have a minimum of 6 years' professional experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. A legal background with a focus on civil litigation, employment law, and a strong understanding of the relevant statutes and regulations is essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage a diverse caseload, resolve conflicts, and maintain harmonious working relationships.
