Summary

Function

The purpose of the class is to perform difficult technical work for the Commissioner of the Revenue Office in one or more of the following areas: personal property taxes/Department of Motor Vehicles DMV Select, business licenses and excise taxes, business personal property taxes or State income tax/real estate tax relief. The class works under general supervision according to set procedures. Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience in accounting or fiscal record-keeping. Municipal government experience and knowledge of municipal tax work is preferred. Must successfully pass a background check prior to an offer of employment or promotion.

Additional requirements include effective communication with internal and external customers. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
