POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

The GIS Analyst/Senior GIS Analyst - Temporary position is a technical position that focuses on the operation and maintenance of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and other integrated information systems and databases. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, data management, visualization, and analysis. Additionally, the work involves the application of professional skills to a wide variety of planning and implementation of projects that will support the GIS needs of all City Departments.

This is a full-time, benefited, temporary position that will last for a duration of up to 18 months. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster has a Multilingual Stipend Program to encourage and reward benefited employees who are conversationally fluent in languages other than English. Benefited employees have the opportunity to test their language proficiency skills and qualify for a bi-weekly stipend that will vary based on the employee’s level of proficiency and usage.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

Essential Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks Maintains the City’s GIS products including datasets, digital products, and hard copyPerforms quality control checks on the City’s GIS data using a variety of tools such as ArcGIS Data Reviewer, SQL queries, and ArcGIS Geometric Network/Utility NetworkAssists with maintaining and administering the City’s GIS Server(s) and services, ArcGIS Enterprise site, and ArcGIS Online organizationDevelops, maintains, and makes enhancements to the City’s GIS databases through ArcCatalog, Python scripts, and Microsoft SQL ServerSupports a variety of software integrated with GIS data including asset management, public safety dispatch, permitting, records management, utility billing, and sales taxEnsures internal and external customer satisfaction through consistent follow up, expedited service, and professional communicationMaintains regular and punctual attendance Other Duties and Responsibilities Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software and hardware methods, trends, and techniques

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses and Certifications
Required: Preferred: Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.

Senior GIS Analyst includes a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a GIS Analyst, or related experience, and proficiency in all GIS Analyst duties and possession of preferred qualifications

Work is sedentary in nature and requires sufficient physical stamina and strength for:
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is constantly performed indoors is primarily sedentary office work. Occasionally work is performed outdoors with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. Must demonstrate the ability to meet the physical demands of the job including the ability to retrieve information from various locations in the office when needed. Exposure to periods of high activity and high stress under demanding conditions. The position requires a great deal of communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies.

The City of Westminster does not participate in the Social Security system. In lieu of Social Security contributions, the city contributes to a 401(a) defined contribution plan on your behalf.

401(a) Contribution Rates:
Employee Mandatory Contribution: 11.5% of your base pay. Contributions are pre-tax and fully vested.
Employer Contribution: 12% of your base pay.
