Description

This position prepares and cooks daily meals to assist the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) with carrying out the mission of the Senior Nutrition Program’s congregate and home delivered meals for older adults.

Prepares and cooks high quality meals in bulk quantities in accordance with established recipes and state Nutrition Program standards. Monitors and records food and equipment temperatures daily and maintains records.Communicates effectively and coordinates with off-site staff such as nutrition site managers, meals on wheels drivers, Daybreak, vendors, and Nutrition Program Manager and MOW Coordinator to ensure program runs smoothly. Maintains food storage, work areas, and associated spaces in a clean and safe condition according to established policies and procedures.Arranges for laundering kitchen items (i.e. towels, aprons, etc.)Washes and sanitizes dishes, counters, and kitchen equipment assuring Wisconsin Food Code standards of sanitation and safety are met at all times.Routinely cleans stoves, steamtables, oven equipment, refrigerator, freezer, floors, etc.Maintains accurate inventory control records, submits weekly food orders, and works closely with the food vendor to ensure accuracy of product.Inspects and verifies inventory receipts. Rotates inventory as needed.Notifies Nutrition Program Manager of special supplies requests or equipment maintenance needs.Assists in the training of other food service personnel, as requested. Assists in leading and directing the work of other food service personnel, as needed.Attends in-service education and conferences as required.Other duties as assigned.
