The Town of Prescott Valley Police Department is seeking experienced, retired Arizona peace officers to fill two newly approved, grant-funded Retried School Resource Officer (RSRO) positions through the Arizona School Safety Program. This is a unique opportunity to continue serving your community while helping create safe, supportive, and effective learning environments for students and school staff.

As a Retired School Resource Officer, you will bring your law enforcement experience into a role that goes well beyond school safety. You will serve as a law enforcement professional, educator, mentor, role model, and trusted member of the school safety team, building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

The Retired Arizona Police Officer - School Resource Officer (RSRO) is a term limited, grant funded position. Funding is granted one year at a time.

The Retired Arizona Police Officer – School Resource Officer (SRO) supports safe and effective learning environments at Town approved school site(s) in Prescott Valley. The position is intended for an individual previously employed as a peace officer in Arizona who retired in good standing and is assigned by PVPD to participate in the Arizona School Safety Program. The RSRO serves as a law-enforcement professional, law-related educator, mentor/role model, and member of the school safety team, while maintaining PVPD chain-of-command accountability and complying with applicable grant, training, reporting, and service-agreement requirements.
