Paid-On-Call Firefighter
The City of Monroe is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter. This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community in a meaningful way while gaining valuable training and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to 3–5 emergency calls per week
- Attend required training (2 Tuesday nights/month)
- Maintenance Crew (2 Thursday nights/month)
- Participate in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical operations
- Maintain readiness of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
- Engage in community fire prevention and public education efforts
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Age 18 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Physically capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs
- Able to complete:
- Wisconsin Firefighter I certification within 18 months
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification within 18 months
- CPR certification within 12 months
