Mountain Patrol
Mountain Patrol addresses the safety of the mountain and guests by providing emergency care and attending to safety issues on the mountain. Essential functions include skiing or snowboarding to perform trail and mountain opening and closing procedures, patrolling assigned work areas, educating guests about mountain safety, enforcing safety regulations, administering emergency care, transporting injured guests, maintaining clean work areas, and developing reports and records.
Skills and knowledge requirements include proficient ski/snowboarding skills, CPR/AED Certification, Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification, ability to handle patient transportation equipment, strong communication skills, and excellent customer service.
Physical and mental requirements include moving about on skis or snowboard, bending, lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 200+ pounds with assistance, ability to follow established policies and procedures, and ability to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Equipment used includes ski/snowboard equipment, UTV, wheeled rescues litter/toboggan, computer, and handheld power tools.
Giants Ridge, managed by Guest Services, is looking for qualified individuals to join our Mountain Patrol Team this winter. As a member of our Mountain Patrol Team, you will play an important role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests while contributing to the integrity of our mountain operations. Responsibilities include patrolling designated mountain areas on skis or snowboard, assisting riders, enforcing safety regulations, and responding to guest injuries.
What we're looking for includes strong skiing or snowboarding skills, a commitment to safety and guest service, ability to work outdoors in all winter weather conditions, current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Wildlife Fire & Rescue (WFR) certification, and must have own equipment.
